ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH ACTIVITY

First Degree in History (University of Bologna), PhD in Demography earned at the Universities of Padoua, Florence and Rome. Professor of Demography at the University of Sassari, where she teaches “Statistics” and “Demography”, since 2005

Throughout her career she has always maintained close international collaborations with other European universities, including visiting research fellowships at the European University Institute of Florence, Queen’s University of Belfast and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.

President of the Italian Society of Historical Demography (SIDeS) between 2006 and 2015. She is member of the IUSSP panel on Historical Demography and sits on the board of the European Society of Historical Demography (ESHD).

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES DURING THE LAST DECADE IN THE FOLLOWING LINES:

a) The health transition in Southern Europe
b) The burden of malaria in Sardinia over the last two centuries
c) Sardinian Longevity and its determinants
d) The determinants of fertility transition
e) A GIS approach to the analysis of demography and environmental and socioeconomic factors in Italy (LONGPOP Project, Horizon 2020, funded under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Grant Agreement N° 676060)

 


 

ACTIVIDAD ACADÉMICA E INVESTIGADORA RECIENTE

Grado en Historia (Universidad de Bolonia), Doctor en Demografía (Universidades de Padua, Florencia y Roma). Profesor de Demografía en la Universidad de Sassari, donde enseña “Estadística” y “Demografía”, desde 2005.
A lo largo de su carrera, siempre ha mantenido estrechas colaboraciones internacionales con otras universidades europeas, incluidas becas de investigación en el Instituto Universitario Europeo de Florencia, Queen’s University of Belfast y la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
Presidenta de la Sociedad Italiana de Demografía Histórica (SIDeS) entre 2006 y 2015. Es miembro del panel de IUSSP sobre Demografía Histórica y forma parte de la junta de la Sociedad Europea de Demografía Histórica (ESHD).

ACTIVIDAD INVESTIGADORA DURANTE LA ÚLTIMA DÉCADA EN LAS SIGUIENTES LÍNEAS:

a) La transición de la salud en el sur de Europa
b) La carga de la malaria en Cerdeña en los últimos dos siglos
c) La longevidad de Cerdeña y sus determinantes
d) Los determinantes de la transición de la fertilidad
e) Un enfoque GIS para el análisis de la demografía y los factores ambientales y socioeconómicos en Italia (Proyecto LONGPOP, Horizon 2020, Marie Sklodowska-Curie N ° 676060)
